An exocortex is defined in both the Accelerando Technical Companion and wikipedia. Generally, though, the following quote suffices: "An exocortex is an external information processing system that augments the brain's biological high-level cognitive processes."
So, while this may start out as simply a random dumping spot for adhoc data, I hope it will be more. Wikis are actually good candidates for proto-exocortices; for all their adhocness, the way that they are written to/from is very standard, and their markup language is well known and supported by toolkits. I think a wiki is actually a pretty good starting point. Initial data will all be input by hand, but I hope to start adding via other processes soon, to augment my ability to manage data. Fingers are crossed.
For example, I have a page on the PresidentialElection2008 ...I'm adding links, resources, and personal notes. I'd hope to make that my "go-to" page for the election, and have followup data on things I'm thinking about just "show up" via agents (cron scripts, etc.) that read and write to the wiki. Again, here's hoping.
